Session Tips
-
Coordinate, don’t match. Choose outfits in complementary colours and tones. Soft neutrals, earthy tones, or muted palettes tend to photograph beautifully.
-
Sunset is golden. For outdoor sessions, golden hour (the hour before sunset) provides the dreamiest, most flattering natural light.
-
Keep it simple. Avoid bold or clashing patterns, large logos, or neon colours. These can draw attention away from the connection and emotion in your photos.
-
Layers & texture work wonders. Think cozy knits, flowing dresses, denim, linen—these little touches add warmth and visual interest to your photos.
-
Comfort counts. Make sure everyone feels good in what they’re wearing—especially little ones. Uncomfortable clothes = unhappy faces.
-
For little ones, bring a few comforts. Snacks, water, and a favourite toy or blanket can go a long way in keeping the session smooth and enjoyable.
-
Bring some movement. A flowy dress, a cozy scarf, or a blanket to cuddle in can help create beautiful, natural-feeling images.
-
For maternity sessions… Don’t forget to bring ultrasound photos, baby shoes, a favourite newborn outfit, or any meaningful props that tell your story.
